‘It won’t happen here’ ~ Murray Scullion

Murray Scullion of ClassicCarsForSale.co.uk recently published an article detailing the dangers of Classic Car Shows after an incident which occurred at an event in Malta.

The article stated that ‘the UKโ€™s tightly-controlled safety regulations would all but rule out a repeat of the crash that injured 20 people at a Malta show earlier this month

‘Tim Swietochowski, acting head of communications for the Motor Sports Association (MSA), said there was no need for knee-jerk reactions following the accident in Malta. He said: โ€˜Drawing comparisons between regulated motor sport events in the UK โ€“ with licensed competitors, officials and venues, marshals and comprehensive technical and sporting regulations โ€“ and a motor show in Malta is like comparing apples with oranges.โ€™

The organisers of this monthโ€™s Dukeries Rally โ€“ relocated from its traditional Sherwood Forest venue due to safety concerns โ€“ said they were confident the public will be safe when the event returns at Donington Park Circuit on 25 October’

RAF Mini Club ~ 75th Annual Battle of Britain

001

Last month we helped to support the Royal Air Force Mini Club with their 75th Annual Battle of Britain Run, long term member James Goodright came to visit us with his wonderful Custom Classic Mini! Click here to visit their official Facebook page Originally owned by John Cooper himself, the mini is an ex-press car which he has restored over the last 8 months. James has owned the car for 18 years and it hasn’t broken down once (Touch wood!)

He’s a regular customer here at DMG, and we’re very happy to be able to give back and to support such a great event! With its rich history, one off interior and custom mixed paint, you can see why he loves this car so much
