First featured lady auctioneer in the UK for Classic Car Auction House!

‘Barons is set to become the first UK classic car auction house to feature a lady auctioneer when Helen Gascoigne brings the hammer down on a selection of lots, assisting their long-standing auctioneer Fabian Hine at the Yuletide Classic Sale at Sandown Park on December 15th

‘The daughter of Barons director Peter Gascoigne, 33 year-old Helen is a senior lawyer by profession but is adding another string to her bow by combining her love of classic cars and knowledge of the family business to embark on learning the classic car auction trade.  In a year of ‘firsts’ for Barons, which has included the company twice setting its highest-ever price for a car sold at auction, it is only fitting that the season ends with another first, not just for Barons, but for all specialist UK classic car houses; the introduction of a lady auctioneer.’

RAF Mini Club ~ 75th Annual Battle of Britain

Last month we helped to support the Royal Air Force Mini Club with their 75th Annual Battle of Britain Run, long term member James Goodright came to visit us with his wonderful Custom Classic Mini! Click here to visit their official Facebook page Originally owned by John Cooper himself, the mini is an ex-press car which he has restored over the last 8 months. James has owned the car for 18 years and it hasn’t broken down once (Touch wood!)

He’s a regular customer here at DMG, and we’re very happy to be able to give back and to support such a great event! With its rich history, one off interior and custom mixed paint, you can see why he loves this car so much

#CreativeConversions // Pure Vintage Coffee

Today we’re looking at creative classic car conversions, we’ll be posting a feature like this whenever we find an awesome use of a classic car.

Such as today’s featured company – Pure Vintage Coffee!

The company has two classic car conversions to date, which are both extremely creative uses of a car body. The first is a 1955 Morris Minor which they have converted to be a DIY Hog Roast which you can hire for special occasions.

The second is a 1966 Austin A35 which they converted into a mobile fair-trade coffee van, they take this to local shops and events to sell their delicious coffee and sweet treats! You can even see a gallery of the conversion process here: http://www.purevintagecoffee.co.uk/#!gallery/c20xu

‘We would like to think we are the first and only Austin coffee van that serves fairtrade and organic coffees/teas and treats.

Our mission is to give great service, serve fantastic coffee, meet new friends and create a new and unique experience for all you coffee lovers out there. We’ve gone as far as to have barista training to bring you the ultimate coffee experience. That’s how serious we are about getting it right for you.

Our 2nd mission (if you can have 2) is too convert many more 1950s/1960s pick up trucks and have a small chain of vintage vans serving fair-trade coffees’
